The Artists

Rich Arentzen, from the USA, and Tove Ohlander, from Sweden have a workshop in Burlington, Vermont. They live and work together, collaborating on blown glass objects and constructions. The pieces are lyrical, and often employ figurative imagery to explore concepts of displacement, longing and identity.
    They met at the Orrefors Glass School in Sweden in 1994 and since have lived together in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and the USA. They are part of a growing number of international couples that divide time between their native lands. As artists, this can be an advantage, allowing them to find inspiration and share techniques with people of different cultures.
